Cong leader seeks MP’s help in rehabilitation of flood victims

SAMBA, Aug 17: Senior Congress  leader Dr Sat Paul  along with Sarpanchs, Panchs, some prominent persons of Samba town & People of Sujwan, Barian Camp, Supwal & Barian Colony met  MP Madan Lal Sharma during his tour to the area to assess the situation created due damage caused to Devak Bundh near Devak Bridge Vijaypur – Dwarka Puri.
Dr. Sat Paul submitted a letter regarding problems to the people because of heavy rains that lashed the Jammu region to Mr Sharma & requested him to take remedial measures so that the people of Samba are relieved of these problems.
The main points were regarding the areas eroded by rains, be identified by the concerned department officials in collaboration with the aggrieved Public of Assembly Constituency Samba & to provide funds to Flood Control Department to install adequate number of Crates, protection walls at places where needed. The collapsed houses, cattle sheds, protection wall of houses, land eroded, crops damaged may also be surveyed, loss assessed & compensation paid to the aggrieved families. The damaged roads & road links of Samba Assembly Constituency be taken up at priority & roads be made functional.
During Samba tour at Devak Bundh & collapsed IAY Colony at Barian, Mr Sharma issued directions to SE Flood Control to immediately install crates & prevent the further damage & also assured the people of IAY Colony Barian to rehabilitate them at suitable place at the earliest possible time.
Regarding the problems submitted through letter he assured that he will take up this issue with State Government as well as Central Government.
