Cong emerging as vibrant force in J&K: Mir

Jammu, Dec 24: Former Minister and Pradesh Congress Committee president, G A Mir has said that Congress was emerging as vibrant force in the J&K State and the country as well.
Addressing party function at Shaheedi Chowk party office here today, PCC president said that Congress was emerging as strong force in the State. He said from the results of Assembly elections in five states recently, it has been proved that people have once again rejected the BJP and were acknowledging the policies of the Congress party. He said the people have rejected the politics of hate and division. He asked the party cadre to gear up for the coming elections.
Mir and other senior functionaries of the Congress formally admitted and welcomed several prominent leaders along with their supporters into the party fold.  Prominent among them present on the occasion included Mula Ram, Raman Bhalla, Th Balwan Singh, Th Manmohan Singh, Balbir Singh (MLC),  DCC president Samba S. Manjit Singh (ex-Minister), DCC president Jammu Rural Hari Singh Chib and others.
Mir referred to the emerging political scenario in the three regions of the State, where Congress party is fast emerging as the only choice of people because of its progressive policies, democratic and secular values being strengthened by the party. He said that secularism is the strength of Indian nation and only Congress can lead the State and the entire nation to the path of peace, progress and prosperity by strengthening secular fabric of this country.
He asserted that Congress has emerged a vibrant force in all three regions of the State and the joining of more and more important leaders from political parties as well as the victory of the party in the ULB elections is a writing on the wall, that Congress would be the single largest party in the next Assembly elections.
Stating that J&K is an integral part of India, Mir said that there is no place for politics of exploitation and negative politics, as people of the State appreciate and participate in the great democracy of this great nation for a better and bright future of the State. Mula Ram and Raman Bhalla also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, Ghulam Ahmed Mir and Observer Minority Dept of AICC Haji Sagheer Saeed Khan addressed meeting of Senior functionaries of Minority department of PCC at party office presided over by S. Gurdarshan Singh Vice-Chairman Minority Department. In the meeting various ways and means were discussed to strengthen the party at grassroot level. Some new comers under the leadership of DCC president Vikram Malhotra also joined the party fold.
