Cong discusses strategy for Panchayat polls in Vijaypur

SAMBA, Nov 4: A meeting of Congress workers of Vijaypur Constituency was held at Vijaypur under the leadership of senior party leader Arun Kumar Sharma. The workers from three blocks i.e. Vijaypur, Ramgarh and Samba participated in the meeting.
Former Minister Rajinder Singh Chib, former Minister Jugal Kishore, Ashok Sharma, Advocate M.K. Bhardwaj, Member AICC, Ashok Dubey, Ghambir Singh, Major (retd) Dalip Singh, Sub. (retd) Bishamber Singh and Capt. (retd) Baldev Raj were also present in the meeting and addressed the gathering.
The agenda of the meeting was the future course of action in the ongoing Panchayat election as well as current situation prevailing in the State. Former Minister, Rajinder Singh Chib while addressing said the workers urged them to communicate the party programme and message on the booth level and elect more and more Panches and Sarpanches in the ongoing Panchayat elections.
Former Minister, Jugal Kishore Sharma also addressed the meeting and said that a hollow propaganda of development was made by previous coalition of BJP-PDP which has been exposed. He said that in future the Congress party will provide the mandate to the dedicated as well as ground worker. Adv. M.K. Bhardwaj criticised the BJP to whom the people of Jammu have given the huge mandate in the last Assembly elections but they totally failed to fulfil the assurance made with the people.
Arun Sharma said that he is in the party from childhood and served it during different situations for the last 30 years. He said that his name was recommended for the Assembly mandate thrice but he never bothered for it and preferred to serve the party at ground level.
Sharma said that the people of Vijaypur Constituency are with the Congress party but groupism in the party has resulted in lowering the graph of the Congress in Vijaypur Assembly Segment. He suggested that the party High Command while giving the mandate should keep in the mind of population of the area as the Brahmins are in thick populated in Vijaypur Constituency, he added.
