JAMMU, Feb 20: A delegation of Congress Migrant Cell led by its chairman Hira Lal Pandita called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Y P Suman here today and discussed the migrants problems with him.
The delegation demanded that the proper arrangements be made in camps and other non camp localities on the Mahashivratri.
The other members of the delegation included Manohar Nath Pandita vice chairman, Ghulam Qadir, convener, Shadi Lal Pandita, co-convener, Chuni Lal Kandi general secretary and Bansi Lal Razdhan.
They demanded that proper power and water supply be ensured on the days of holy festival, besides the ration be provided in those areas where the migrants have not been provided ration so far.
The renovation and repairs of quarters also came up for discussion and the delegation demanded that the PM’s employment package be expedited.
The Relief Commissioner issued instructions to concerned departments to ensure water supply and power supply in camp as well as other non camp areas. He said that the process has been already initiated by him for renovation of quarters and work will be started soon.
The Congress leaders assured full cooperation to Relief Organization in the constructive policies launched for welfare of migrants.
