Cong committed to J&K’s economic development: Prakash

* Soz appeals cadre to strengthen party

SRINAGAR, May 4: All India Congress Committee  general secretary and incharge J&K affairs of the party, Mohan Prakash today said that Congress was committed for the economic development of the Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a function organized by the party in connection with the 24th death anniversary of  late Sheikh Jabbar, father of senior Congress leader Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar,  at  Lar in Ganderbal today, the AICC leader said that Congress president Sonia Gandhi  and Rahul Gandhi were taking keen interest in the over all development of the Jammu and Kashmir. He said massive funds are being provided for the better economic development here.  He appealed the cadre to strengthen the Congress Party to serve the interests of the people in better way.
Former Union Minister and PCC president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz in his address assured the people of the area that he would help Sheikh Ishfaq in various fields of  development which have been highlighted in the memorandum such as promotion of tourism, irrigation, flood management, PHE related infrastructure etc. He appealed the cadre to strengthen party in the State.
Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control   Sham Lal Sharma  and Minister Incharge Tourism, Ghulam Ahmed Mir  also spoke on the occasion and assured the people to sort  out their issues concerning their departments.
Others who were also present on the occasion and addressed gathering included, Bashir Ahmed Magray -MLC, district president Sheikh Ishfaq,  Mohd Anwar Bhat, Master Mohd Maqbool and  Farooq Andrabi.
