Concern over suspension of work on Rattle project

KISHTWAR, July 23: The inhabitants of Kishtwar have expressed grave concern over suspension of work on Rattle power project due to workers unrest.
In a meeting organized by various social activists here, today it appealed the authorities of GVK and L&T to resume the work as it was neither in the interests of management nor the workers.
The meeting which was chaired by Tilak Raj Shan Congress leader of the area and Member Kissan Board said suspension of work on the project was neither in the interests of workers nor the people of Kishtwar. They said this way the workers have become idle and those who were trying to seek a job have in the project have also been deprived of the same.
The meeting said immediate completion of the project was not only in the interests of the people of Kishtwar but the people of the entire State. It sought cooperation of all in starting the work on project.
The meeting, which among others addressed by Farooq Ahmed Tapal, Tilak Raj Shan, Haroon Rashid, Nissar Ahmed Mir, Surjit Kumar and Akshay Kumar has also made an appeal to Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar and Assistant Labour Commissioner Kishtwar seeking their intervention in the matter.
