Communal Harmony Festival held at Shivalik College

UDHAMPUR, Nov 23: District Administration in collaboration with NSS Unit of Shivalik College of Education organized Communal Harmony Festival.
The festival was inaugurated by Joint Director Planning Rakesh Jamwal, who was the chief guest, in presence of
Principal of the college, Dr Vikram Gulati, District Information Officer, Dr Jagdish Mehra, Assistant Director Planning, Ashok Khajuria, Deputy Warden Civil Defence,  Swatantra Dev Kotwal, faculty members and students.
While speaking, Rakesh Jamwal said that such type of festivals are vital for promoting brotherhood, harmony and national integration.
Presenting the details of the festival, Principal, Dr Vikram Gulati said that a comprehensive programme was chalked out to celebrate the harmony festival in a befitting manner, which mainly included Harmony songs, oath of communal harmony, slogan presentation, film shows, followed by brain storming sessions through video films, rally, detailed expert lectures on the importance of communal harmony.
On the occasion, Happy Model Foundation presented a cheque amounting to Rs 5100 to Deputy Commissioner, as a contribution towards Communal Harmony National Fund.
The students presented scintillating song and folk dances, which were highly appreciated by the audience.
