Commodore Sodhi presents book on Sikh shrines to Governor

JAMMU, Feb 1: Commodore Dalbir Singh Sodhi, Nao Sena Medal, presented a copy of his book “Historical Sikh Shrines of Jammu and Kashmir” to N.N. Vohra, Governor here at Raj Bhavan.
Commodore Sodhi’s book provides an account of the visits of Sikh Gurus- Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Hargobind Sahib and Guru Hari Rai to Jammu and Kashmir.
Appreciating the impressive research work done by the author, the Governor observed that the book would serve as a useful source and also promote brotherhood and amity among people of all communities.
Commodore Sodhi stated that the main objective of his work was not only to place historical Sikh shrines of Jammu and Kashmir on the tourist map of the State but to inspire people in India and abroad to visit the Holy Shrines described in the book.
The Governor was also informed about the life and work of Banda Singh Bahadur who was a historically known son of the soil from Rajouri district.
The Governor wished Commodore Sodhi high success in all his future endeavours.
