College teachers call on Asgar Samoon, highlight demands

JAMMU, Jan 25: A delegation of College Teachers Association,  led by the president CTA Jammu (Wing),
Prof  D S Manhas, called on  Dr  Asgar Samoon, Commissioner/Secretary Higher Education  Department,  and discussed various issues concerning to the teaching fraternity.
The association raised the demand of placement of teachers to Associate Grade, which was  pending for a long time now, to which Commissioner/Secretary stated that the matter was already being taken on priority and directed the Additional Secretary to expedite the same.
The Association also demanded that all the cases of placement of senior scale and
selection grade be cleared . After making enquiries about the matter,  Commissioner /Secretary  was prompt in action and a meeting of DPC was fixed to be held on 3rd February, so as to clear all the pending cases.
The demand of extending the benefit of SRO-222 to the college teachers and   increment on placement from one grade pay to other were also raised. The Commissioner Secretary issued necessary instructions in this regard also,
The deputation comprised of  Dr Anil Ganjoo, Prof  Narayan Dutt, Prof Hans Raj, and Dr Jagjit Singh.
