College teachers apprise Com Secy of their demands

SRINAGAR, Aug 18: College Teachers Association led by its president Prof D S Manhas, called on Sarita Chauhan, Commissioner Secretary, Higher Education Department and discussed various issues regarding college fraternity.
CTA raised the demand of implementation of UGC guidelines which includes framing of recruitment/Service rules and promotion through CAS, enhancing the age of superannuation of college teachers to 62 at par with the State universities and creation of post of Professor in colleges, change of nomenclature of PTI, advance increment for Ph D/M Phil and other Higher qualifications in favour of College Teachers.
CTA further demanded that as per the UGC regulations 2018, advance increment for Ph D/M Phil and other Higher qualifications has been restored in favour of College Teachers and the Association demanded that notification in this regard may be issued by the Higher Education Department.
CTA raised the issues of placement of College Teachers in various Grades, transparent transfer policy, recognition of College teachers in Cluster University, establishment of separate Directorates of Higher Education, separate Calendar of Vacations for Winter Zone Colleges of Jammu Division and appointment of Principal of Government Colleges as Secretary JKBOSE.
The Commissioner Secretary gave a patient hearing and assured the Association that necessary action would  be taken on the demands.
