Col Tej Tickoo elected new president of AIKS

NEW DELHI, June 10: All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS), a registered society, working for the Kashmiri Society globally in the fields of social, cultural, education and sports, held the election after coming of the end of three years term of Vijay Aima its president.
Dr. Raj Kachroo was appointed Returning Officer for conducting the election. Four nomination papers were submitted and after withdrawal of three candidates, Col. Rtd. Dr. Tej Tickoo remained in fray. On June 9 the Returning Officer Dr. Raj Kachroo declared him elected for three years term in the general body meeting of the AIKS.
On the occasion outgoing president,  Vijay Aima spoke about the rich traditions of AIKS and his work for the period he was president. He spoke about his experience of over a decade as an activist in AIKS and complimented his team for the co-operation, he received from them.
The new president Col. (Rtd). Dr. Tej Tickoo on assumption of his office spoke in length about the AIKS vision. He also assured, to move on the path, his predecessors have laid down. He complimented general body for reposing faith in him. He showed satisfaction for smooth transition.
M.K. Pajan read the welcome address and conducted the proceedings of the programme. Vijay Kashkari proposed vote of thanks.
