JAMMU, Feb 20: Outplaying Ajay Kapoor convincingly in the summit clash, Col JS Jasrotia claimed the title trophy of the Jammu District Squash Championship, organized by Jammu and Kashmir Squash Rackets Association at KC Sports Club, here.
The Championship was sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council.
Col Jasrotia defeated Ajay Kapoor by 11-6, 12-10, 11-8, 11-9 in the title clash and the third place went to Naveen Kapoor.
Both the finalists showed composure, serenity and class, besides displaying extraordinary skill during the summit clash.
Col Jasrotia applied to almost perfection and held his nerves when it mattered the most to finally clinch the title trophy.
Waseem Raja Khan, President J&K Squash Rackets Association presented awards to the winner, runners-up and third place holder on the occasion.
Prominent among others present on the closing ceremony were Kishan Sharma, Farooq Ahmad Salroo, B K Tickoo, Ajay Sharma, Raman Singh and other members of the association.
Sanjeev Sharma was the organizing secretary of the Championship.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Waseem lauded the efforts of the participants in vying for the top honours and appreciated the initiatives taken by J&K State Sports Council headed by its Secretary, Waheed-Ur-Rehman Parra, in developing sports culture among youth of the State.
He thanked Arjun Choudhary, Managing Director  of KC Sports Club for providing world class facility to organize the Championship in a befitting manner.
