Coalition taking people friendly measures: Bhat

SRINAGAR, May 28: General secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Nizam-ud-Din Bhat today said that coalition Government headed by Mehbooba Mufti is taking people friendly measures to provide good governance to the common masses. He said that since formation of the regime, large number of pro-poor initiatives have been taken to improve socio-economic conditions of the deserving lot of the society.
Nizam-ud-Din Bhat was addressing party workers at Sonawari along with Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) Yasir Reshi and other senior leaders of the party.
Bhat said that coalition Government led by Mehbooba Mufti is committed to pursue the pro-people agenda and vision of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. “It was desire of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to set up a new system so to provide equal opportunities of growth and development to every individual of the State”, Bhat recalled and added that PDP is working to fulfill desire of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
“Government headed by Mehbooba Mufti is moving in positive direction to realize dreams of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed”, he said and informed the workers about the steps being taken by the coalition Government in this direction, since its formation.
Exhorting the cadre to work with zeal and commitment to accomplish pro-peace and pro-people agenda of PDP, Bhat said that party workers have to shoulder greater responsibilities because people of the State have high hopes on PDP. “Being workers to PDP you have to play very important role”, he asked the workers and called them to rededicate themselves to solve problems of the masses.
Speaking on the occasion, MLC Yasir Reshi informed the party workers that Government headed by Mehbooba Mufti has taken many people friendly initiatives like Ladli Bete, Assara, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Food Entitlement Scheme (MMSFES) programmes which aimed at improving socio-economic conditions of the marginalized and neglected lot of the society.
Yasir Reshi also convened review meetings in which he gave directions to the officers concerned to solve problems of the people on priority. He also asked SDM to settle cases of flood affected families on priorities. He also directed irrigation & Flood Control Department to ensure supply of water for irrigation purpose.
