Coaching Centres to defy closure directive

Excelsior Correspondent
Srinagar, Apr 23: Coaching Centres Association today said that all the coaching institutions across Kashmir valley will start functionally normally from tomorrow.
Addressing a press conference here, the members of the association said: “All coaching Institutes would start functioning normally from tomorrow 24/04/2018 (Tuesday).”
“Today we closed the centres as a mark of protest against the Education Minister’s statement in which he said that coaching centres would be closed for 90 days”, they said.
They said that the use of terms like ‘Distraction’, ‘Human Rights Violations’, and ‘Money-Minting Shops’ with relation to Coaching Institutes by Education Minister Altaf Bukhari and other Government officials is condemnable and unfortunate.

They said the Government authorities should make it a point that usage of generic sweeping statements in relation to coaching institutes should be stopped.
They said: “We would never encourage and infact suggest the students not to take to roads to protest this decision. A students place is in the classroom and that is how it should be.”
“In response to a distinction between ‘Academic’ and ‘Professional’ Coaching, we as an association would like to convey that all programs run by Coaching Institutes are integrated Courses and cater to the demands of Competitive Examinations of different nature. An awareness drive about the same would be carried henceforth for the benefit of the parents and students”, the Association said.
