Co-accused in girl’s blackmailing case arrested

RAMBAN, Mar 3: After registering a case against army personal, the sleuths of Crime Branch conducted raid in a computer institute here and arrested its owner.
As per police sources, the sleuths of Crime Branch from Jammu and assisted by a police team conducted raid in a computer institute and arrested its owner for being the co-accused in the blackmailing of a girl.
The computer institute owner has been identified as Ashok Singh, sources said, adding that the Crime Branch team also seized the computers from the institute.
It is to mention that, on the compliant of the girl that somebody started blackmailing her by sending offensive text messages through different mobile numbers threatening her that he was having her video and nude pictures which he is going to post on the social networking sites and if the complainant wants to stop him she should send him her fresh nude pictures and porn video of other girls particularly of Ramban area alongwith an amount of Rs 5 lakh.
After conducting preliminary inquiry, Crime Branch yesterday registered a case under Section 354-A, 354-B, 354-D, 420, 467, 468, 471, 385 and 120-B RPC r/w Section 66-A, 66-D and 66-D IT Act against an army person identified as Gulab Singh Parihar, son of Sham Singh, a resident of Parihar Mohallah, Ramban and others.
