CM sanctions financial assistance for GB Panth Hospital, auto rickshaw owners

SRINAGAR, Oct 21: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has sanctioned Rs 5 lakh to the Government G B Panth Children’s Hospital Srinagar for purchase of life-saving medicines like immunoglobulin for neonates and children suffering from life threatening diseases.
The assistance out of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund was released to G B Panth Children’s Hospital which is the only tertiary care hospital in Kashmir that caters to the pediatric healthcare services from whole of Kashmir valley and some parts of Jammu and Ladakh region.
Principal, Government Medical College, Srinagar had requested for financial support for procurement of these drugs as some families who turn up for treatment of their children cannot afford cost of medicines and other treatment procedures.
The funds released as financial assistance from time to time has helped the hospital to attend to the poor patients in distress who are unable to afford the treatment and costly life-saving drugs.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister sanctioned relief of Rs 3.87 lakh in favor of 3 auto rickshaw owners whose vehicles were set ablaze by miscreants.
The Chief Minister sanctioned Rs 1.29 lakh each in favor of the three affected persons to enable them purchase new vehicles and earn their livelihood.
On October 4, some miscreants had set ablaze three auto rickshaws in Srinagar and after the incident Government had announced that their cases will be considered sympathetically for adequate relief to enable them earn their livelihood.
