SRINAGAR, July 30: At least two kothas of Gujjars with domestic animals were flattened and huge apple orchards were destroyed due to cloudburst that struck Doddu area of Anantnag today morning. However, no loss of life or injury to any human life has been reported.
District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Farooq Ahmad Lone said that a cloudburst struck Doddu and it submerged the whole area with flood as it blocked the Doddu canal. “The floods breached the banks of the canal and submerged the area. The water destroyed apple orchads, two kothas of Gujjars. But, no human life was lost,” Lone said.
The DDC said a team of some officials has been constituted to visit the affected the area and assess the damage caused by the cloudburst.
