Clinical KC Sports Club seals berth in 5th Baisakhi CPL finals

JAMMU, Apr 15: KC Sports Club registered convincing 42-run win over JK Sports Promoters Club to seal berth in the finals of the ongoing “5th Baisakhi Cricket Premier League” at Parade ground, here.
The League is being organized by J&K Sports Promoters Club in collaboration with District Police Jammu. The objective of the League is to promote communal harmony and brotherhood among the masses and the slogan of the league is ” Lets’ celebrate Baisakhi together through T20 Sport”.
The organizing committee members include RK Bhat, Ranjeet Kalra, Hilal rather, Rajesh Dhar, Adv. PS Parmar, Umesh, Sudhir Singh, Saleem-Ur-Rehman, Anand Tripathi, Sadiq Hussain and Madan Mohan, while Rajesh Gill, Former Ranji Trophy Player is the Coordinator of the event.
The sponsors of the Premier League are Shukeel Gupta & Co. and Lep Sqad Co.
Earlier, in the semifinals, KC Sports Club defeated J&K Sports Promoters Club by 42 runs.
Batting first, KC Sports Club scored 171 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Ateev Saini was the top scorer with 49 runs, studded with 4 fours and 1 six, while Suryansh contributed 43 runs including 4 boundaries and 2 sixes. Yudhveer also chipped in with brisk 19 runs.
For JK Sports Promoters Club, Praful Dhar was the pick of the bowlers, who took 3 important wickets by conceding 15 runs in his 3 overs, while Shamsher Singh Manhas, Deepak Dogra (Baba) and Anchal claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, J&K Sports Promoters Club managed to score 130 runs, thus lost the match by 42 runs. Abdul Samad was the top scorer with unbeaten 70 runs, while Vishal Singh Bhau and Rajesh Gill contributed 17 and 16 runs to the total respectively.
From KC Sports Club, Vivek was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 4 important wickets, while Abishant took 2 wickets and Aman claimed one. Vivek was declared as the man of match for his superb bowling performance.
In another match, Road Safety Club defeated ICC by 54 runs.
Batting first, Road Safety Club scored 157 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Yasir scored 52 runs, while Naseer contributed 43 runs to the total. Manzoor chipped in with 17runs.
From bowling side, Atul took 3 wickets, Rahul and Rajiv bagged 2 wickets each, while Akshay claimed 1 wicket.
In reply, ICC managed to score 102 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Akash (38) and Rahul (18) were the main contributors.
Zuber, Vinay, RK Bhat and Imtiyaz took 2 wickets each for Road Safety Club, while Yasir claimed 1 wicket. Yasir was declared as man of the match for brilliant batting performance.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain, Sandeep Manchanda, Sanjay and Vinod.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Simula Sports Club will face Road Safety Club at 3 pm in another semifinal.
