JAMMU, June 29: The Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh All Department s Clerical Staff Association today announced to conduct `Gherao’ of Civil Secretariat at Srinagar on July 12.
Addressing a joint press conference here today president of the Association Babu Hussain Malik and senior members- K A Dewani, Bharat Bhushan, Meenakshi Sharma and Yash Paul Sharma disclosed that clerical cadre has been befooled by the Government for the last over five years. Despite written agreement , framing committee for seeking report on pay anomalies and clear directions from the State High Court, the Government failed to provide justice to the clerks working in various departments. The pay anomalies in their grade have not been removed.
They said that clerks are the back bone of any Department but unfortunately the Government has shown no keen interest to solve the long pending issue of this cadre. Several representations were given to the Government and protests/ dharnas were held. Strong resentment is brewing among the employees of this cadre. The Government must implement the High Court order vide SWP No. 3058/ 2015 in letter and spirit. It is unfortunate that the Government did not bother for the contempt petition filed in the High Court . The fate of the Committee report, framed by Govt on 16-01-2012 vide GAD Order No. 67, was not made known to the employees. They demanded that pay anomalies be removed before the implementation of 7th Pay Commission report in the State.
They further said that after being fed up from the circumstances and on criminal silence of the Government, the State clerical cadre has resolved to conduct Gherao of the Civil Secretariat on July 12, 2016 with a move to intensify their protest programme. Announcing `Kashmir Chalo’ call, senior leaders of the Association appealed all the employees of the cadre to participate in the protest programme at Srinagar on July 12.
Prominent among them present on the occasion included- Javed Ahmed Akhoon, Ashok Singh, Ansuya Gupta, Sewa Ram Rathore, Vipin Kumar, Yashpaul Sharma, Jaswant Singh, Munish Sharma, Udhay Singh Pathania, Rakesh Singh, Parshotam Kumar, Vinod Koul and Ajay Khajuria.
