JAMMU, Feb 26: A student of Class 11th today committed suicide by hanging himself in Sarwal area of city outskirts.
“Bavey Sharma (16) son of Rajan Sharma and resident of House No 1, Sarwal, was found hanging with the hook of the ceiling fan at his residence this morning by his parents when they opened his bed room”, a police spokesman said.
He said the parents of the boy immediately took him to Government Hospital, Sarwal, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. Later, the body was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu and after conducting post mortem it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
“A suicide note was also recovered from his room, wherein he cited the exam related stress as the reason of this extreme step”, the spokesman said, adding the deceased’s father is a Divisional Sports Officer (J&K Sports Council), Jammu.
