Civil society highlights sanitation, other issues

JAMMU, Mar 28: A meeting of civil society was held here today, wherein the speakers highlighted various issues including sanitation and traffic problems being faced by the citizens of Jammu.
The meeting was chaired by Yash Paul Sanson and attended by prominent citizens of Jammu. The speakers said that condition of drains in whole Jammu city is worst as they are full of garbage while Municipal Corporation is not paying attention to this. They said if drains are not cleared soon there is every possibility of outbreak of Malaria.
The speakers further said that at Kanak Mandi, Dal Wali Gali, Gali Old post office and many other areas of Jammu city, foot paths have been occupied by the vendors and shopkeepers. Moreover, due to double traffic from Lakh Dutta Bazar to City Chowk, the citizens are facing worst traffic problems.
The civil society members appealed the Municipal Corporation to look into the matter and resolve these issues in the interest of the society.
