JAMMU, Apr 26: Civil Secretariat employees held protest demonstration in the Secretariat complex here today.
The employees under the banner of Civil Secretariat Employees Coordination Committee led by Ghulam Rasool Mir and Maqbool Hussain, president Lower Grade Employees Union, struck work and assembled in the Civil Secretariat complex at Jammu in the morning and started protest demonstration. They had already announced their today’s protest programme two days ago. The purpose was to draw the attention of the Government towards the pending issues of the employees.
The employees were shouting slogans in support of their demands, which include, detachment of attached staff, resolving Estates quarters allotment issues, review of career progression / cadre review of the employees on the establishment of GAD/ Planning/ Finance , Law; removal of pay anomalies and implementation of 7th Pay Commission report, ration problem of Darbar Move employees, LTC, Medical allowance enhancement, which were projected before the Govt from time to time.
It was decided that there shall be no official business in the offices of Civil Secretariat for the next two days. It was also resolved to boycott the opening ceremony function of Civil Secretariat at Srinagar on May 8, 2017 (Monday) as a mark of protest for further pressing the Government to fulfill the pending demands.
