JAMMU, Jan 27: Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department has asked all private ration dealers of Jammu City to lift the ration, sugar, etc, from Food stores on their own failing which the Department will be at liberty to make alternate arrangements of ration, besides termination/dis-engagement as per terms and conditions abinitio without further notice.
In a notice issued here, Director, FCS&CA Department, Jammu, said that like other dealers in Muffasil areas, the city ration dealers will lift ration from the nearest Food store themselves for which the carriage charges will be reimbursed to them as per the approved rates.
The notice reads that the private ration dealers of the department are governed under laws, rules and various orders issued from time to time in this behalf and cannot be resort to aggressive methods of non-lifting of ration themselves where public utility services involving day today and timely distribution of food grains in required to be ensured.
“Whereas all the legitimate claims like dealers’ commission on sale proceeds, etc, have been settled and dealers of Jammu City were impressed upon time and again to lift food grains themselves ensuring distribution of the same, they have been adopting dilly dally approach, which is unwarranted/uncalled-for/unjustified”, the notice further reads.
The notice said, “It is enjoined upon all the private ration dealers of Jammu City to lift the ration on their own forthwith for which freight charges as admissible under rules shall be reimbursed to them, failing which the department will be at liberty to make alternate arrangements of ration, besides termination/disengagement as per terms and conditions abinitio without further notice”.
