City people facing water, electricity crisis: Malhotra

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, June 2:  PCC general secretary,  Vikram Malhotra today undertook an extensive tour  of ward No 10 of old Jammu City.
The residents and traders of Pacca Danga and  Khilone Wali Gali gathered in huge number and narrated the apathy of civic authorities towards the poor conditions of lane and drains in the area and collection of garbage, unscheduled power cut and lack of drinking water.
Malhotra assured them that he will take up the matter with JMC officials. He   said that poor sanitation and the condition of the lanes with huge path holes in one of the busiest streets of Jammu city exposes the hallow claims of “VIKAS” and “SWACHH BHARAT”. He said that inspite of two MLAs and one MLC from Jammu East, people are being forced to live in such sub human conditions.
He added that the BJP Government in the State has failed to implement the programme of the Central Government and has been a huge disappointment for the people of Jammu. He said Jammu city cannot become smart only by installing Traffic signals at every nook and corner but only by solving the basic problems of waste management, water, electricity and proper roads.
