KARGIL, Jan 29: City Club Drass won the 7th CEC Ice Hockey Cup 2014 to continue its winning spree in this mega event from the last four years.
The team defeated Nindum Khangral-A by 2 goals in the summit clash, after playing 7 matches each. The Tournament was organized by the District Youth Services and Sports Office, Kargil.
Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC Kargil Haji Asgar Ali Karbalie was the chief guest who distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ali said that to promote these games an International standard Ice Hockey Rink, which is already under construction, will come up at Kargil at a cost of Rs 45 crore.
Karbalie also addressed the gathering on the occasion and assured all support to promote Ice Hockey in the District.
Vote of thanks was presented by Mohammad Hussain Rehnuma, District Youth Service and Sports Officer Kargil.
Prominent among others present on the occasion was Additional SP Kargil, Mohd Younus Bhat.
