CISF cop kills 3 including wife, colleague; arrested

‘Extra-marital reason behind crime’

KISHTWAR, Nov 30: A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable has been arrested for killing his wife, colleague and colleague’s  wife with his service rifle in the NHPC Colony at Shalimar Chowk, here today.
Addressing a press conference, Abrar Ahmed Choudhary, SSP Kishtwar said that during the intervening night of November 29 and 30 at around 2.00 am, a CISF constable identified as Ingalapu Surendar, son of Ingalapu Babu of Telangana killed his wife namely Lavanya and his colleague constable Kekane Rajesh Kiran, son of Kekane Kiran Bhausaheb of Maharashtra and his wife Shobha Rajesh Kekane with his service rifle.
He stated that teams from Police Post Shalimar and Police Station Kishtwar led by DySP Headquarters Kishtwar reached the spot and started the investigation of the incident.
“I also visited the spot and examined the scene of crime”, he said, adding that on visiting the scene of crime, it was found that the dead body of wife of the accused constable was lying in the pool of blood on the floor of his residential quarter, whereas the dead bodies of his colleague constable Kekane Rajesh Kiran and his wife Shobha Rajesh Kekane were lying on the floor of their residential quarter.
As per reports, the accused was on night duty at Shalimar barrier and after taking permission for going to washroom from his duty incharge, he straightway went to residential quarters and committed the crime, the SSP said, adding that experts from FSL Jammu are also expected to join the investigation.
“After conducting legal formalities on the spot, police shifted the dead bodies to the mortuary room of District Hospital Kishtwar”, he said, adding that a Board of Doctors including a Surgeon Specialist, Gynaecologists and a Medical Officer were deputed for              conducting postmortem of the deceased. The bodies were handed over to CISF for further handing over them to relatives in Jammu, SSP added.
A case under FIR Number 253/17 under Section 302 RPC has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar and the accused has been taken into custody, the SSP said, adding that the police also seized the weapon of offence.
“Preliminary investigation has revealed that the cause of crime seems to be some extra-marital issues. Further investigation of the case is going on”, the SSP informed. The killing has rendered four children, two each of the couples, orphan, he added.
“The accused jawan has been suspended and the force will take care of the children of both the families”, CISF Director General OP Singh said in Delhi.
The jawan, Ingalapu Surendar, who allegedly committed the crime had joined the force in 2014 and hailed from Telangana.
