UDHAMPUR, Dec 5: Udhampur Police seized six grams of contraband substance (Chitta) from a narcotics smuggler near Barrian in Udhampur town, here today .
The accused was identified as Ranbir Singh (Rambo) of Barrian Udhampur. He was intercepted during surprise checking of vehicles by a Police party of Police Station Udhampur, led by SHO Sanjeev Gupta, under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Kameshwar Puri and Addl SP Faisal Qureshi. Six gms of contraband substance (Chitta) was recovered from his possession.
Police seized the contraband and arrested the accused besides registering a case FIR No.561 /2017 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act in this connection at Police Station Udhampur.
Police is working on the involvement of some other narcotic smugglers, especially the main kingpin in this illegal narcotics trade.
