Chinar Volleyball Premier League concludes

SRINAGAR, Oct 11: To promote sports culture in the Valley and provide an opportunity to the youth to showcase their talent, Indian Army conducted Chinar Volleyball Premier League at Baramulla, which concluded today.
Ten teams from Baramulla, Manasbal, Drugmulla, Seer, Qaziabad, Budgam and Tangdhar took part in the tournament.
All the matches were keenly contested and the final match was played between Super Challengers and Manasbal Warriors with tremendous zeal and effervescence which drew lot of cheers from the crowd. After a close finish, Manasbal Warriors won the final match and lifted the Chinar Volleyball 2018 Trophy.
The Chinar Corps Commander, Lt Gen AK Bhatt, was the chief guest on the occasion, while GOC Dagger Division, DC Baramulla, SSP Baramulla and District Coordinator Nehru Yuva Kendra also graced the occasion with their presence.
The chief guest felicitated the young winners who performed well during the event and appreciated the efforts put in by the players.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chinar Corps Commander encouraged the youth to actively participate in various sports competitions for which the Army, Civil Administration and the civil society have joined hands to create a conducive atmosphere in the Valley. The Chinar Corps Commander also hoped that some of the players will find places in the State and National teams in the future as well.
