Chilli, turmeric prices fall on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, Mar 4:  Red chilli and turmeric prices fell up to Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today on easing demand from retailers and stockists amid sufficient stocks position.
Chilli and turmeric prices drifted lower up to Rs 200 to conclude at Rs 6,600-15,900 and Rs 7,500-11,200 per quintal, respectively.
Marketmen said low demand from retailers and stockists against sufficient stocks, mainly pulled down chilli and turmeric prices.
Following are today’s quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 125-180, black pepper (per kg) 700-800, betel-nut (kg) 250-295, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 770-790 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 820-1,070.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,390-1,490, cardamom (colour robin) 1,310-1,330, cardamom bold 1,340-1,360, cardamom extra (bold) 1,450-1,470 and cloves 560-680. (PTI)
