Children Theatre Workshop gets underway

JAMMU, Jan 2: The Department of Students Welfare started a 10 days Children Theatre Workshop for the wards of University employees at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, here today. Around 30 children are taking part in this workshop for whom it will prove an exciting new year gift as they get an opportunity to utilize their winter holidays in a productive manner.
The workshop was inaugurated by Prof Deshbandhu, Dean Academic Affairs, University of Jammu.
In his address Prof. Deshbandhu appreciated the efforts of Department of Students Welfare to organize the winter theatre workshop for children. He expressed his gladness over the training of the children which will prove beneficial for them in future.
Dr Anupama Vohra, Associate Dean Students Welfare presented welcome address and dwelt on the importance of theatre for the overall personality development of the children. She said that such workshops not only enhance the confidence, imagination and creativity amongst the children but also inculcate a sense of belonging towards the institution among the wards of the employees.
The workshop is being conducted by Ifra Kak (Cultural Officer) and Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor). The programme was coordinated by Hemant Mangotra, Secretary, Students Cultural Council and formal vote of thanks was presented by Ifra Kak( Cultural Officer).
Dr Vishava Raksha, Dr Sarita Sood, Dr Amisha, Dr Virender Koundal, and others were present in the inaugural function.
