Chib, Chalotra campaign for Azad in Kathua

Kathua, Apr 15:  Former Minister and PCC  general secretary R S Chib today addressed series of meetings in Kathua, Hiranagar, Janglot, Lachhipura and Raghunathpura to campaign in favour of alliance candidate Ghulam Nabi Azad.
While addressing in these meetings Mr. Chib said that  issues of displaced persons, refugees of different categories of 1947, 1965 and 1971 especially of West Pakistan have received priority attention of the Congress Party and the party has done lot of work to resolve the issues of the different categories of refugees. Mr Azad and Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz had taken the issue in Parliament and would continue to seek justice for them by way of one time settlement and is at final stage.
He said that  UPA-I & UPA-II has taken several revolutionary steps to uplift the SC, backward and downtrodden sections of the society. He said that the Congress is committed to remove poverty, illiteracy, hunger and backwardness from the country and added that Coalition Government in the State has effectively implemented Centrally sponsored schemes for the upliftment of downtrodden sections of the society.
He further said that the liberal funding by Centre to the State,  the State Coalition Government has done tremendous developments and said that Government has taken various schemes to fulfill water crisis in the kandi belts of the State and would  further take more steps to address the problems of people.
Prominent others who spoke in these meetings included Ghirdhari Lal Chalotra, Kulwant Singh, Chaghar Singh, Harbans Singh-Sarpanch; Ishar Singh, Manmohan Singh, Bodh Raj, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Surjeet Singh Jamwal and Ch. Balbir Singh.
