Cherai Club wins Volleyball Tourney at Shrine Board’s Sports Complex

KATRA, Feb 23: Cherai Volleyball Club won the one-day Volleyball League Tournament organized by the Sports Wing of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board at Sports Complex, here today.
In the last league match, Cherai Club defeated Kalika Club, Reasi by two sets to one and was adjudged as winner on the basis of maximum points secured in the tournament in which five teams from Talwara, Reasi, Malhar, Cherai and CRPF 6th Bn participated.
Dr Piyush Singla, Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board was the chief guest.
Before the start of the final match, players of both the teams were introduced with the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Singla gave details of various facilities provided by the Shrine Board at its Sports Complex at Katra for the promotion of sports and games in the area.
Ashok Kumar, Director Sports, SMVDSB dwelt on sports activities to be organized by the Shrine Board in the coming months and presented trophies to the winner and runners-up teams and other prizes to the players of both the teams.
