Chenani-Nashri tunnel closed after successful trial runs

UDHAMPUR, Mar 14: After successful trial runs from March 9, the Chenani-Nashri tunnel has been closed till its formal inauguration in next few days.
According to an official handout, the tunnel has been closed for maintenance on successful completion of the trials.
The trail run was successfully conducted from March 9 to March 14, during which a large number of vehicles passed through the tunnel and gave much relief to the local population.
During the trial run, safety announcements were made by distributing pamphlets, announcements on PA system and FM Radio.
The tunnel is likely to be thrown open in next few days after its formal inauguration, most probably by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
