Chandua Club wins ‘Departed Noble Soul Cricket Tournament’

BILLAWAR, Feb 4: The final match of the Departed Noble Soul Cricket Tournament, organized by the Youth Development Committee Bhaddu at Bhaddu ground was won by Chandua Cricket Club, trouncing Bhaddu Cricket Club by 34 runs.
Batting first, Chandua Cricket Club scored 146 runs in the allotted 20 overs, while Bhaddu Cricket Club bundled out for 112 runs.
Sanjeev was declared as the man of the match and also the man of series for his outstanding performance throughout the series.
Thakur Balbir Singh MLC was the chief guest while Advocate Pankaj Basotra, State General Secretary, Pradesh Youth Congress was the guest of honor.
While speaking on the occasion, Balbir Singh said that it is immaterial who wins or loses, but participation in the games is important as it provides ample area for players to inculcate team spirit, discipline and zest to achieve the goal.
He also lauded the efforts of Youth Development Committee Bhaddu in organizing such events and assured every possible help to them in organizing such events.
Thakur Balbir Singh said that the government has failed to provide adequate sports facilities to the youths of district Kathua especially the youth of Billawar.
He said that the youth of Kathua have immense talent but due to the inadequate facilities available to them they are not in a position to flourish at the higher levels.
Prominent among others who were present on the occasion included Madan Lal, Narinter Sharma, Jagdish Spolia, Des Raj Raina, Jasbir Singh and Roshan Lal.
