Chandeep Singh, the golden boy

When there is will, the determination and the urge to emerge different from among the common; when there is passion, the gusto to do something special for the State and the country and have the feats recorded in World Books that matter, we have athletes like Chandeep Singh to make that all happen. Hailing from Guru Teg Bhadur Nagar, Channi Rama, Jammu, this ace Para athlete -specially abled converted his odds into  a unique strength to win gold medals in Asian Taekwondo Championship at Vietnam and Kathmandu Kyorugi and Pomsae International Taekwondo Championship at Nepal recently.
The State and the entire country is proud of Chandeep Singh who has to his credit a long journey of excellence in sporting world. He successfully shone in football, athletics and skating at school, zonal and national levels. He has the distinction of winning big haul of medals in Taekwondo at the international level.
This world class sportsperson, in an exclusive interview with Excelsior talked about his achievements and his continuous zeal to achieve excellence. He started participation in games right from his tender age of 7 years and started winning medals mostly gold. Not only does he extraordinarily excel in games, he is best at studies as well, he has completed his Electric Engineering course from MBS College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu and is pursuing an ambition for the prestigious IAS examination to show the world that adversaries could be turned into beauties. This all he could do despite, unfortunately  losing both his limbs in an electric shock in the year 2011. Who cannot be proud of you, Chandeep Singh, the Golden Boy?
