Chancellor’s office rebuts news item

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Jan 11: A media report regarding the selection of a successor to replace Prof. Dilip K. Arora, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST, Jammu, on account of certain charges against him has been brought to the notice of Governor, N.N. Vohra, who is Chancellor of this University.
The Chancellor’s office has rebutted this baseless report. It is clarified that Prof. Dilip K. Arora had met the Governor last year at Srinagar and requested to be relieved from the duties of Vice Chancellor due to certain pressing personal reasons. The Governor had declined to do so and persuaded Prof. Arora to continue. However, Prof. Arora had written to the Governor and yet again pressed his request. The Governor had, a few weeks ago, most unwillingly accepted Prof. Arora’s request to step down and the process to select his successor has since begun.
