Chana futures remain weak on muted demand

NEW DELHI, Nov 23:  Chana prices drifted further lower by 0.31 per cent to Rs 4,765 per quintal in futures market today as speculators engaged in trimming their positions, driven by easing demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in January was trading lower by Rs 15, or 0.31 per cent to Rs 4,765 per quintal with an open interest of 25,680 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in December shed Rs 13, or 0.27 per cent to Rs 4,890 per quintal in 26,080 lots.
Marketmen said offloading of positions by traders on subdued demand in physical market against adequate stocks position, mainly kept chana prices down at futures trade. (PTI)
