Chana futures down by 0.35% on higher output hopes

NEW DELHI, Aug 28:  Chana prices fell further by 0.35 per cent to Rs 2,816 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators indulged in reducing holdings on higher output hopes.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in September declined by Rs 10, or 0.35 per cent to Rs 2,816 per quintal with an open interest of 1,22,290 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in October shed Rs 8, or 0.28 per cent to Rs 2,899 per quintal in 32,870 lots.
Market analysts attributed the fall in chana futures to increased supplies in the markets on expectations of higher output at major producing belts. (PTI)
