Chaman Lal deplores opposition for disrupting Governor’s address

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Jan 2: The former Union Minister Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has deplored the disruption by opposition forcing the Governor to leave Joint Session of the State Legislature and termed it as an unhealthy trend for democratic functioning.
Three times member of Lok Sabha as also three times member of the State Assembly, Prof. Gupta observed that in a democracy the opposition has every right to protest but such like disruption is not good that the Constitutional Head is not allowed to enlist his statement which of course symbolizes the policies and programmes of Government. There are many other methods of agitating against the functioning of the dispensation, he added.
Prof Gupta expressed surprise over the reports about the Congress having joined hands with National Conference, the leadership of which has extended its open support to Hurriyat Conference, which is supporting violence and cross border terror to break unity and integrity of India in Kashmir and more so, making a hell of life for peace loving people of the Valley.
Prof Gupta also expressed dismay over the Address being ambiguous evasive and silent on many important issues especially the evil designed Calendar Raj of the separatist and certain other issues pertaining to common man particularly the rations, employment etc.
