JAMMU, Sept 22: Welcom-ing the Central move for tackling the Rohingyas problem, the former Union Minister, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has emphasized the need for deep probing that who had been instrumental to bring these controversial elements hundreds of kilometre away to this border State and made their stay in sensitive areas in and around this city of Jammu, What was their design and who had opened Madarassas for them to radicalize these foreigners and also their sources of funding.
Prof Gupta said that this is a serious matter that these unauthorized immigrants have been provided ration cards, election voter cards and even Aadhaar cards as also electricity connections whereas large a number of local people are still longing for such basic documents.  Moreover how and who had managed the marriages of these foreigners with the local people, he added.
He said that most of these foreigners had come to Jammu during the coalition of the National Conference and Congress both in State as also at the Center and no check was made even after the issue was raised by him in and outside the Assembly.
Prof Gupta has voiced a note of caution over the manner in which the issue of these unauthorized foreigners is being mingled with the coming of Tibetan refugees as also those of Hindus from Pakistan and Bangladesh and attempts are being made to communalize the problem which clearly indicates that designs working behind this.
He also demanded a probe that how thousands of unauthorized constructions have come up around Jammu city especially along the Tawi and other areas. According to an estimate about 5000 unauthorized structures have come up in the recent years, mostly on the encroached forest and other land. How all this has come should be deeply looked into, he added.
