SRINAGAR, Dec 20: Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Shantmanu, today convened a meeting to review progress of Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan, Deputy Commissioners of Kashmir Division including Leh & Kargil, Deputy District Election Officers, Election Naib Tehsildhars and other concerned attended the meeting.
During the meeting, disposal of claims & objections recorded during the period of Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls, certificate of stock taking of EVMs, Submission of Format 1-8, details of criminal cases, service electoral data in the ERMS (Electoral Roll Monitoring System), status of NERP(National Electoral Roll Purification), Status of PGR(Public Grievance Redressal) complaints & disposal thereof, candidate wise Summary Report of General Elections to the State Legislative Assembly, 2014-Account of Election Expenses, paid news cases regarding Assembly Elections-2014 were discussed threadbare.
Speaking on the occasion, the CEO directed the officers to submit the pending data regarding special summary revision within three days so that the final publication of Electoral Rolls which is due on January 14, 217 can be issued on time.
He said that vacant posts of Deputy District Election Officers will be filled on priority. He stressed on 100 percent registration of eligible voters and purification of electoral rolls.
