CEC LAHDC Leh passes away

LEH, Jan 29: Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh Dr Sonam Dawa Lonpo passed away due to cardiac arrest here this evening.
According to reports, Dr Dawa left for his home after having lunch and was later found dead on his bed.
The CEC reportedly failed to respond to his wife’s call, who later asked a neighbour lady to visit her house and enquire about Dr Dawa’s health.
The neighbour lady, who used to serve food in CEC’s wife absence, found him dead on the bed.
He is survived by his wife, daughter and son-in-law.
The cremation of the CEC is likely to be held tomorrow as his family members had left for New Delhi two days back.
Dr Dawa was unanimously elected as new CEC of the LAHDC, Leh on November 3, 2015. He was the BJP Councillor from Thiksay and President of the Leh district unit of the party.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of CEC Dr Sonam Dawa. In her condolence message, the Chief Minister recalled the contribution of late Dr Sonam Dawa in the development of Ladakh region. She expressed sympathies with the bereaved family members in their hour of grief and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State in PMO has also expressed grief over the demise of CEC Dr Sonam Dawa. He expressed sympathy with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Amit Shah, National President, BJP, has expressed sorrow over the demise of CEC and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden demise of Dr Dawa and extended condolences to the family.
He prayed for peace to the departed soul.
