CEC assures all help to flood hit people

LEH, Aug 8: Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC, Rigzin Spalbar visited the flood affected areas of Bema, Skyurbuchan and Achinathang to assess the damages caused by the catastrophic rainfall.
He was accompanied by Executive Councilor for Agriculture Sonam Dorjey, Councilor Skyurbuchan Dawa Tsering, Executive Engineer Special Sub-Division Khaltse Ghulam Nabi, BDO, Tehsildar and concerned officials.
At Bema, 9 houses, a Government Dak Banglow, and a DG set were completely submerged thus damaging them completely. The foot bridge of Baldes village was completely washed away, and about 10-12 irrigational canals were completely damaged.
CEC giving a patient hearing to their grievances, instructed X-En Nabi to immediately arrange for a trolley connecting Baldes village.
He contacted DC Kargil and took up for requirement of 100 pipes for irrigational canals, 6 bundles of PSP pipes and water tanker and a truck full of ration on loan due to inaccessibility from Leh as the roads at Skyurbuchan and Achinathang were damaged where the commuters have to walk to reach these villages and that Kargil district is the nearest accessible point. He further assured of every effort of getting relief from Leh also.
CEC further talking to the villagers took the assessment for necessary requirements to be achieved on priority basis. He stressed on immediate protection of apple and apricot cultivation.
Spalbar assured the villagers of all possible help and also appealed the public to work in coordination with the Government officials in carrying out the work of restoration.
CEC later visited the flood affected areas of Achinathang Gongma, met with the representatives and directed the Tehsildar for fresh assessment of damages.
Skyurbuchan—Khache-ythang Bridge was washed away and after meeting the nambardar, CEC gave directions for fresh assessment.
Spalbar also gave directions to engineer PDD for early restoration of the electricity services from Domkhar and above areas which were damaged by the water.
