CEC asks youth to take benefit of incentives, soft loans in tourism sector

KARGIL, Mar 11: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor (CEC) Kargil Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan today called upon the unemployed youth to come forward and take benefit of the Government incentives and soft loans available in the tourism sector.
The CEC stated this while addressing the participants of the two days orientation cum awareness programme for the youth on prospects in the tourism sector which concluded at Conference Hall Baroo.
Kacho said that the major objective behind organizing an awareness programme of this nature is to spread awareness among the local unemployed youth about the training programmes available in the tourism sector so that youth from the district are in a position to acquire jobs and start their business ventures in the tourism sector which has immense potential and bright prospects in Kargil in the times to come.
The CEC said that the Council is keen to give a fillip to the tourism sector in the district and several concrete measures like the development of new potential sites, strengthening of infrastructure, national level publicity campaigns, provision of incentives and soft loans and other key measures are underway.
Meanwhile, members of AKTTA and participants highlighted issues like opening up of a Food Craft Institute at Kargil, introduction of diploma and certificate courses in tourism and hotel management at ITI and Polytechnic Kargil, sponsorship to local unemployed youth for skills training in tourism management and training programmes to the members of Taxi Operators Union.
