Ceasefire violations widely condemned

JAMMU, June 3: Various political parties and social organizations condemned today’s ceasefire violations by Pakistan in Akhnoor sector, in which two BSF Jawans got martyrdom and several civilians severely injured.
Condemning Pakistan for heavy shelling across the border targeting civilian population in Pragwal, Shamachak and several other adjoining areas, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma conveyed deep sympathies to the families of the martyrs and with the injured on behalf of entire rank and file of the party.
Blaming Pakistan for worst kind of violations of international norms and resorting to heavy shelling on the civilian population that to after the DGMO level announcement for observing the ceasefire agreement 2003 and maintaining calm on the borders, JKPCC questioned the Modi Government for its utter failure to deal with Pakistan during the past 4 years as a result the people along the border have undergone heavy casualties and sufferings in the unabated Pak firing.
Sympathizing with the border residents  who are the unarmed soldiers of the nation, the party has said that time has come that Pakistan be dealt in the manner and the language it understands in order to check the killings of our civilians on the borders and that of our Jawans and security personal.
Condemning today’s ceasefire violations by Pakistan, Shiv Sena Bala Sahib Thackeray J&K unit held protest at Miran Sahib. The protest was led by Sanjeev Sharma, who while speaking, said that Pakistan is targeting the civilians and security forces are being attacked by the stone-pelters and the anti-national elements in the Kashmir valley.
“Situation in the Kashmir valley is not conducive and simultaneously along the borders either it is International Border or the Line of Control,” he rued. He stated that Pakistan is bombing border villages and targeting the innocent civilians even after DGMOs level talks on the hotline agreeing for ceasefire along the borders.
He condemned this act of Pakistan and demanded the Central Government to impose Governor rule in Jammu and Kashmir and abandon the rule of PDP Government.
Team Jammu chairman, Zorawar Singh Jamwal, also condemned ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Akhnoor sector. Lashing out at the Central Government on announcing ‘Ramzan ceasefire’, Team Jammu on Sunday said that what kind of ceasefire it is that on borders Pakistan is targeting the civilians whereas in the hinterland, our security forces are being attacked by the stone-pelters and the anti-national elements in the Kashmir valley.
He was addressing a meeting of members of Team Jammu to discuss the situation at Jammu borders as well as in Kashmir valley. Jamwal said that Government at the Centre seems to have surrendered before the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti as despite the fact that the situation in Kashmir is volatile, the ‘Ramzan ceasefire’ was announced by the Union Home Ministry.
“Pakistan, who celebrates the holy month Ramzan—is not in favour of ceasefire then why we are beating the drum of ‘Ramzan ceasefire’ only to appease a section of politicians for political mileage at the cost of our security personnel,” he said.
Jamwal also condemned the J&K police for registering an FIR against the CRPF personnel, who scared of being lynched, attempted to escape from the site of stone pelting resulting into the death of a civilian. He demanded that FIR against the CRPF personnel must be quashed immediately.
