JAMMU, May 14: Former minister and senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla today said that ceasefire violation and increase in violence in Kashmir has been the outcome of the weak and flawed policies of Govt.
Addressing public meeting at Bahu Fort Colony in Gandhinagar constituency today, Bhalla said since the  BJP-PDP joined hands, the miseries of the people of this State have increased manifolds. He said situation in Kashmir  and increase in the  incidents of ceasefire has been witnessed due to wrong and flawed policies of the  PDP-BJP alliance.
Bhalla said that all the promises made with the people prior to the Assembly elections of 2014 remained unfulfilled. ” Two and half year has passed but they have failed to fulfill any of the promises, be it the problems faced by the border residents, be it the problems faced by the farmers, or the problems of refugees and Kashmiri Pandits, this Government has done nothing to address those problems,” he said.
Congress leader said forming a Government in Jammu and Kashmir with the PDP was the BJP’s “biggest mistake” as it “reversed” the situation in the state to the 90s and led to the current violence there. Coalition Government failed to heal the physical, psychological and emotional wounds inflicted by militancy, to restore the rule of law in Jammu & Kashmir State, to evolve a broad-based consensus on restoration of peace with honour in the State. He said the coalition Govt did not address the issues pertaining to refugees from Pakistan, internally-displaced Kashmiri Hindus and displaced persons from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Bhalla said the current situation in the State was the biggest concern for the people and the issue was above political considerations. “This present situation is our biggest concern. See, the main concern of any Government — whether of the State or the Central – should be the security of the people. But no one is taking any responsibility of the uncertainty in the minds of the people that the situation is similar to 1990s. He said the situation in J&K  was “alarming” and attacked the Central and state Governments, saying the repeated incidents of attacks were a result of “weak and flawed” policies to deal with cross border terror aided and abetted by Pakistan.
