CCI holds discussion on GST implementation

JAMMU, June 24: The Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) today reviewed its action if GST is not implemented in the J&K state on July Ist.
An emergency meeting of many Trade,  Market,   Industry and  Transport Associations was convened at Chamber House today regarding the course of action to be taken by the Chamber if GST is not implemented on  July 1, 2017 in the State.
The representatives of scores of associations were present in the meeting on this occasion. Chamber president Rakesh Gupta briefed the various association heads  about the efforts being made by the Chamber for smooth implementation of GST in J&K  state.
It was unanimously voiced by one and all that GST has to be implemented before July 1,  as no business can be transacted inter-state and all the associations authorized Chamber of Commerce & Industry to take whatever steps  they deem fit to get GST implemented.
The House authorised the Chamber to call for indefinite bandh stop paying taxes/ ‘Gherao’ the elected representatives / invite the opposition parties to Chamber House to justify their stand and so on if nothing positive is heard from the Government side before June 27.
The other office bearers present in the meeting include Rajesh Gupta, senior  president, Manish Gupta, secretary general and Gaurav Gupta, secretary.
