CBSE clarifies on NEET-2017

JAMMU, Feb 13: The Central Board of Secondary Education has clarified that the candidates originally from Jammu and Kashmir State, who have wrongly submitted the `Self Declaration’ while filling the online application forms of NEET -2017 to the fact that they are not eligible for MBBS/BDS seats in their State, shall be eligible for 100 percent seats of their State despite submission of the undertaking.
In fact, this declaration was to be submitted only by the candidates, who are not from J&K but residing here because of the posting of their parents etc.  These candidates are not eligible for the seats of J&K.  The candidates, originally from J&K, are eligible for the 100 percent seats of the State and these candidates are not required to fill the self declaration.
Pertinent to mention that J&K, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State have opted out from 15 percent All India Quota seats. According, candidates of these States are not eligible for All India Quota seats.
The CBSE has advised the candidates, filling up the application form, to adhere to the instructions and mention name of their State. The candidates, who have wrongly submitted undertaking, will register for counseling in their State as and when registration is started by the State Counselling Authority/ Admitting Authority, the CBSE said in a press release.
