CBDT gives relaxation in furnishing report of audit electronically

JAMMU, Sept 26: Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has decided to relax the requirement of furnishing the report of audit electronically for the Assessment Year 2013-14.
According to the order issued by Rohit Garg, Deputy Secretary, Government of India, the CBDT has decided to relax the requirement of furnishing the report of audit electronically as prescribed under the proviso to Sub-Rule (2) of Rule 12 of the IT Rules for the Assessment Year 2013-14.
“The assessees, who are presently finding it difficult to upload the prescribed reports of Audit in the system electronically may also furnish the same manually before the jurisdictional Assessing Officer within the prescribed due date”, the order said.
“The report of audit should, however, be furnished electronically on or before October 31, 2013”, said the order.
The copy of order has been forwarded to President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu, Associated Chamber of Traders Federation Jammu, NRIC Jammu Chapter and Income Tax Bar Association Jammu by Rakesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax (HQ), office of the Commissioner of Income Tax, Jammu, J&K on the directions of IT Commissioner, J&K Circle, A K Thatai.
