MENDHAR, May 11: A buffalo was killed while another cattle and minor girl were injured when they were trapped in a live electric cable at village Tami in Gursai area today.
Police said the mishap took place when girl, Shamneez Kouser, daughter of Mohd Ismail was taking her cattle towards nearby water source during the day. On the way, she along with two other cattle got trapped in the live electric wire falling on the ground. While a buffalo was killed on the spot, another cattle and girl escaped with injuries.
Later, the villagers held protest demonstration against PDD authorities and alleged that this live cable of 63 KV line was falling on the ground for the last two days. Concerned PDD staff was also informed about the matter but they did not bother. They demanded stern action against the concerned field staff for this lapse.
